YOUR VIEHHOFEN SKI HOLIDAY

in the middle of 2 large ski areas

Viehhofen is known as a small village in the Glemmtal, which is located just before Saalbach. But did you know that Viehhofen is located between 2 ski areas and both are wonderfully easy to reach?

These are not just any ski resorts! They are among the largest in Austria and regularly receive awards skiresort.de . We’re talking about Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn  and the family ski area Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See .

AMBITIOUS CREATE HERE
SKIER

from the full

Thanks to the ticket merger, it is no longer necessary to choose a ski area, as the Ski Alpin Card includes everything your skier’s heart desires and probably much more. It’s really a challenge to ski down the numerous kilometers of pistes, it’s a whopping 408 km. This impressive total number of kilometers is due to the fact that the Alpin Card also includes the Kitzsteinhorn ski area with the glacier area in Kaprun and the Maiskogel.

As a holidaymaker in Viehhofen, you will particularly benefit from this merger of the ski areas, as you are right in the middle. In theory, you can even ski from Viehhofen to the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun, most of it on skis. You only have to cover a few kilometers with the ski bus from Schüttdorf to Kaprun to the Maiskogel. With such big goals, you should definitely assess your physical condition and pay attention to the operating times of the cable cars so that you are back in Viehhofen in time for dinner. Because what better way to end the day than with Viehhofen hospitality and local delicacies in one of the local restaurants.

But now we’ve digressed a bit. It’s time to take a closer look at the ski areas that surround us.

WITH THE ZELLAMSEEXPRESS

to the Schmittenhöhe

The zellamseeXpress takes you from Viehhofen to the Schmittenhöhe and is your convenient entry into skiing fun. On the Schmittenhöhe, 77 kilometers of slopes are waiting for you to be explored. Approx. 40% of the ski area are blue slopes and are ideal for a skiing holiday with children.

However, there is a lot to discover on the Schmitten for both the youngest and experienced skiers. If the children have fun on the kids’ slope at the Glocknerbahn or have fun in Schmidolin’s dragon park, hobby racers can prove their skills on the trass. With a gradient of up to 70% and a height difference of 1,000 m, this descent is not for the faint of heart. However, if you want to take home proof of your excellent skiing skills, you should let out your inner Marcel Hirscher and throw yourself down the slopes at the Audi Ski Run. An original Audi start house and 16 gates ensure the right feeling. There is also a fully automatic camera at the edge of the track, which records your rapid swings and your highly tense body.

Away from the slopes there are alternative routes on which you can ski to your heart’s content. One of them takes you back to the Viehhofen valley via a forest path, to the Kreuzerlehengraben with a direct bus connection.

THE SKI CIRCUS

Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

Planning is underway, but there is not yet a separate lift connection from Viehhofen to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn.

But this is opposed to the interval of our ski buses, which can be used free of charge with a valid ski pass. The ski bus between Viehhofen and the Schönleitenbahn, your entrance to the ski area, runs every 10 minutes and the journey itself only takes about 5 minutes. From the Schönleitenbahn you can reach the entire ski area quickly and easily. Regardless of whether you are drawn to Leogang, the center of Saalbach, Hinterglemm or even Fieberbrunn.

In the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, 270 perfectly groomed kilometers of slopes await you. Here, too, both beginners and experts will get their money’s worth. With just over 50% blue slopes, it is ideal for family skiing holidays. The Skicircus also has a lot of fun slopes to offer. There are the fun slopes on the Zwölfer and on the subway with steep curves, waves and snow snails, or the snow trail on the Bernkogel. If you don’t know what a snow snail is, a personal encounter will help. Just line up, close your eyes and through! Great fun for kids and the young at heart. There are no age restrictions here!

Speed junkies are in good hands on the speed run or the ski movie slope at the A9 Unterschwarzachbahn. Make your ski holiday your own Ski World Cup and another video of your skiing skills. The videos are up skiline.cc  available and unique holiday memories.

THE BEST COMES LAST

The Viehhofen descent

With 7.5 kilometers of pistes, it is the longest in the entire ski area and a special treat for pleasure skiers. The blue slope can be reached via the I4 Polten lift and is suitable for the whole family due to its width. The always perfectly groomed slope is still dependent on natural snow and therefore offers a special skiing experience. At the Hecherhütte, directly on the piste, you should not forget to make the last stop of the day. The terrace there lures you to enjoy the last rays of sunshine and the hut itself with its rustic charm and the comfortably crackling open fire is worth a visit.

Passing on the joys of skiing to future generations is important to us, which is why Saturday is dedicated to children throughout the ski area. They only pay €13.00 for a day ski pass with the Junior Xplore Ticket. (Note: This ticket is only available directly from the lift ticket offices. Proof of age is required.)

All in all, there is more to your skiing holiday in Viehhofen! Thanks to our location, you benefit from the Ski Alpin Card and can really use it to your (skiing) heart’s content. You could even say there are no limits for you.

That gives you a feeling of freedom right away, doesn’t it? At the mountain station of the zellamseeXpress, next to the Salersbachköpfl, let your gaze wander over Lake Zell to Kaprun to the reservoirs and in the Glemmtal to Saalbach and Hinterglemm. Underneath your skis, the bright white and freshly groomed slopes and above the deep blue sky. The sun might be dazzling, but some things you just have to accept 😉
